Surrey Police and the Olympics 2012

Surrey is playing an essential and exciting role in the Olympic Games 2012. For many it will be a unique opportunity to become part of the Olympic fervour which will be shared by people around the world.

Not only will the county host two Road Cycling events for men and women, but it will also play a key role in providing training facilities and accommodation for athletes. The Games will be the largest peacetime security and policing operation in the UK and Surrey Police are working with partner organisations to ensure the summer of 2012 can be celebrated in safety and security.

Although, the demands of such a high profile event will be challenging for us, we are committed to ensuring our core policing across the county will not suffer and disruption will be minimised. When the public call for help, we will attend as normal. Officers will still be on patrol, local matters will still be dealt with and crime investigated.

Within these web pages we aim to provide as much up to date and relevant information as possible about what Surrey Police is doing to safeguard Surrey residents and minimise disruption in the run up to and during the Games.
