Sukhwinder Singh murder, Operation Isobar
The body of 27-year-old Sukhwinder Singh was found in a car park at Epsom racecourse by two members of the public at 7am on January 21 2006.
A post mortem examination determined the cause of his death to be strangulation. He also had injuries consistent with having been assaulted.
Detectives continue to appeal for information relating to three men they wish to speak to in connection with the investigation. Amandeep Singh, also known as Mahli or Navtej Singh Mahli, Rajinder Singh Buttar, and Amrinder Singh, also known as Monu. All three men are from the Punjab region of India.
They are believed to have attended a party in a flat in Sandfield Road, Thornton Heath, Croydon, during the evening of Friday 20 January 2006 which lasted into the early hours. Detectives suspect the murder might have followed an incident there.
Sukhwinder Singh was married with three young daughters. He left the Punjab in India in August 2005 to look for work in Europe, intending to send money home to his family.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston-Heard said: "We remain committed to solving this case and as part of our on-going enquiries it is important we speak to all the people who attended that party on January 20 2006. They can help us build a picture of exactly what happened on the night Sukhwinder was murdered.
"Amandeep Singh, Rajinder Singh Buttar and Amrinder Singh are three people whom we believe hold particularly significant information and we are very keen to speak with them.
"There is still a £10,000 reward for anyone who provides information which leads to charges being brought for this murder."
Anyone living in India who has any information is asked to call the free telephone number 000 800 4401418 or click here to email the Operation Isobar team.
