Transfer to Surrey

Surrey is a fine county in which to live and work. It boasts some of England's most attractive countryside and some truly vibrant towns, all in comfortable proximity to London, the south coast and two major international airports.

To help maintain our reputation as one of the UK's most innovative police forces - and our status as England's safest county - we constantly aim to strengthen our capability. To this end, we actively seek to recruit seasoned officers on level transfer from other UK forces.

We are always keen to hear from constables who may be interested in joining us. In certain instances you will be required to complete a probationary period and/or adaptation training. We are currently not accepting transferees into the rank of Sergeant. Surrey Police require all transferee applicants to be transferring from Home Office forces and have completed the full IPLDP programme or equivalent and have successfully completed their probationary period

We are actively recruiting for PC Response Officers to join our Targeted Patrol Teams across the county; successful applicants will need to be Response driver qualified before commencing employment within Surrey Police.

At this time we are especially seeking applications from Detective Constables; in particular Officers with experience in Public Protection, or those with strong leadership skills and experience in Reactive CID.

We would also like to encourage PCs with sound investigative experience and/or PIP Level 1 who are interested in undertaking a detective learner. We cannot guarantee any applicant will automatically go onto the Learner but if they are suitable, we will assess and consider progression to the Learner Programme.

Due to the success of the force Intelligence Development Teams (IDT's) and the increased investment by the Surrey Police in proactive work in targetting prolific offenders, these teams based at Banstead (relocating to Caterham), Staines and Farnham (relocating to HQ) are now looking to recruit and train several new members of staff.
